Bio

Matt Rickard is assistant professor in the Program of Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He studies renaissance poetry, poetics, and aesthetics, with a secondary interest in the history and philosophy of science. His current book project is called “Probability: A Literary History, 1479-1700.” Articles may be found in English Literary History, Studies in Philology, and elsewhere.

Before Notre Dame, Matt was a Mellon Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis and, further back, a graduate student at Princeton, where he co-authored and co-edited the satirical Keywords; for Further Consideration (Princeton University Press, 2018).
