Bio
Matt Rickard is assistant professor in the Program of Liberal Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He writes about the literary history of Renaissance Europe, with a focus on poetry and poetics in the seventeenth century. He’s currently finishing a book manuscript called ‘Probability: A Literary History, 1479–1700’. Articles may be found in English Literary History, Studies in Philology, and elsewhere.
Before Notre Dame, Matt was a Mellon Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis and, further back, a graduate student at Princeton, where he co-authored and co-edited the satirical Keywords; for Further Consideration (Princeton University Press, 2018). Inquiries are welcome from students at every level.
