Gretchen Reydams-Schils (who also holds concurrent appointments in Classics, Philosophy, and Theology) was recently featured on an episode of The Secret History of Western Esotericism Podcast to discuss the late-antique philosopher Calcidius, whose partial Latin translation of and commentary on Plato's Timaeus proved deeply influential across subsequent centuries. She recently published Calcidius on Plato's Timaeus: Greek Philosophy, Latin Reception, and Christian Contexts, the first book-length study on the entirety of Calcidius' commentary on the Timaeus.
