Research Profile

Pierpaolo Polzonetti studies 18th-century music and culture. He has published a book on Giuseppe Tartini (LIM, 2001); his scholarly articles on opera studies appeared in Opera Quarterly, Eighteenth-Century Music, Studi Verdiani, Cambridge Opera Journal, as well as in edited volumes. He has received the 2004 Einstein Award from the American Musicological Society (AMS) and research grants from the AMS, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). Polzonetti is the coeditor of The Cambridge Companion to Eighteenth-Century Opera and is writing a book on operatic representations of the American Revolution.
