Research Profile
Marvin is a member of the Program of Liberal Studies and the Medieval Institute. Her research centers on medieval history and literature, particularly on the role of vernacular historiography in late-medieval English culture. She is currently completing an edition and translation of the oldest Anglo-Norman prose "Brut" chronicle, one of the Middle Ages' most popular books but never before published, as well as a book about the "Brut." Among her other interests are manuscript studies and Anglo-Norman editorial theory. Honors include a Fulbright Full Grant to the UK, a Newcombe dissertation fellowship, and an AAUW Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. Educated at Princeton University, she has been at Notre Dame since 1997.
