Research Profile
Bernd Goehring received broad training in Philosophy, Theology, Italian
Philology and Medieval Studies at Bonn, Florence, Oxford and Cornell. He was
granted fellowships by the Studienstiftung, German Academic Exchange Service,
Italian Ministero degli Affari Esteri, Europaeum-Program, and the Mellon
Foundation.
Goehring specializes in medieval philosophy. His current book project explores
Henry of Ghent’s theory of cognition. His essays include “Aquinas on
Self-Knowledge and Self-Awareness” and “Henry of Ghent on Human Knowledge and
Its Limits”.
